I feared you, I did
I bought in to the hype
to the hysteria and panic
a challenge so ripe
I feared you, I did
because I did not understand
how you moved about the world
and the power in your hand
I feared you, I did
because you were about to threaten
my safety, my health
my sanity and my brethren
I feared you, I did
you were about to keep me away
from the someone I love
the someone I need to stay
alive, but then,
something it shifted
among the mayhem of hoarding
and of borders now rifted
It was then, I could see
your pandemic potential
your silent call
a call so gentle
To re-prioritise
and see what is true
beyond markets and sales
and success that I brew
Is family and hope
and friends that do form
of chorus on porches
and calm in the storm
You mean us no harm,
in fact, you perplex at our reaction
you came not to divide
but to unite us in action
So, come one, come all
come inside to find
that you have arrived
to re-program our mind
